The 14-19 Curriculum across the UK is evolving at a significant pace. The impact of the Entitlement Framework (EF) in Northern Ireland, Vocational Qualifications Reform Programme (VQRF) and the policy direction outlined in FE Means Business places demands on curriculum managers to respond to a new strategic landscape. This seminar will give an insight into the implications of the policy in this area for providers and how existing partnerships will inevitably embrace a demand led relationship.

(iv) MERGERS: Learning from Experience

This seminar will highlight some current research being carried out on looking at the merger process locally in Northern Ireland and in colleges in England. With the merger process still at a fairly early stage this will give delegates a chance to reflect on their own experience and to learn from some of the issues highlighted in the research.

The merger of colleges in NI is the first step towards making the sector fit for its new purpose. What, though, do the planned changes mean for college governors? What are their priorities and to whom are they accountable? the workshop will explore the pressing issues facing Governors in the new colleges.
