Industry into Education is a pilot programme for the Hospitality and Tourism sector. It is funded by the Department for Employment and Learning as part of the ‘Future Skills Action Group’ plan to support and develop the growing tourism and hospitality industry in Northern Ireland (NI). It is managed by the Learning and Skills Development Agency NI and offers industry specialists the opportunity to work with local regional colleges to support and quality assure training for their sector.
These should have an agreed focus on a subject area, course or new initiative in the Hospitality or Tourism training provision. The industry specialist will take the role of adviser rather than part-time lecturer.
Industry specialists may work with the college for up to 5 full days or 10 half days. Payment of £150 per day may be claimed from LSDA NI by the industry specialist at the end of the placement.
A review and evaluation of the outcomes of Industry into Education programme will be undertaken by LSDA NI through questionnaires and face-to-face interviews.
